Raising children in a multicultural environment like the San Francisco Bay Area poses special problems for parents. Conflicts may arise between parent and child from cultural differences between home and school or between one's family and other families. Parents need to teach children how to have pride in their own heritage and also to be open to persons from other backgrounds. Teaching children to live and work successfully with persons of different cultural backgrounds is a major task of parenting. This lecture and workshop will address these topics in helping parents to better resolve conflicts with children. Welcome children of age 13 and up to join.
