Understanding Inattention in Children and Adolescents:
Recognizing Signs of ADHD, Anxiety and Depression
Abstract
Dr. Pratt will explore conditions that can lead to inattention including ADD/ADHD, anxiety and depression. He will use clinical data from psychological evaluations to clarify the process of diagnosis, parental intervention, educational accommodations and child advocacy. He will give practical suggestions for parents and teachers on how to work with children who are inattentive. He also will be available to answer questions from the audience.

Speaker Biography
Dr. Brendan Pratt is a licensed psychologist who specializes in psychological evaluations of children and adolescents. He is the past president of the Santa Clara County Psychological Association and is currently on the Board of Directors of the California Psychological Association. He also co-authored the book, Parents' Guide to School Selection in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties (2006).
